The Hair Regrowth Timeline
Patience and Consistency: Your Allies in Hair Regrowth
We hope that you'll choose to start your hair restoration journey with us. If you do, you should be aware that visible changes can take time and patience. Over a period of about six months, with consistent treatment, you'll transition from slight shedding to noticeable regrowth, finally enjoying enhanced hair thickness and fullness.
0 to 3 Months
Patience is key. Visible changes aren't likely during this stage. What's more, you might notice increased shedding. This is not uncommon when you start a new hair loss treatment and usually indicates that a new hair growth cycle is beginning.
3 to 6 Months
You'll probably start to notice some evidence of regrowth in affected areas of the scalp. Typically, hair loss slows during this period and that initial shedding from the first few months will have stopped.
6+ Months
Congratulations, you're probably seeing noticeable enhancements in hair thickness and fullness! You've come a long way, but remember that consistency is important to the maintenance of these results.

Frequently Asked Questions About XYON
What does my XYON subscription include?
Your XYON subscription includes your prescribed hair regrowth solution, the cost of the physician consultation, compounding (carried out by a compounding pharmacy) and shipping costs.
The total price of your subscription is dependent on what you are prescribed. Options for men with androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness) and women with female pattern hair loss are determined through a consultation with a licensed medical professional and may include oral finasteride or other physician-prescribed compounded medications.
What does the initial consultation process look like?
Getting started with XYON is a simple process that can be done from the comfort of your home.
Create your Account - Begin by clicking “Start your Consultation” on our website. You'll be prompted to create an account with XYON and answer some health questions. If you have any questions for the physician, be sure to type these out in the appropriate box before placing your order.
Consultation - Once you've completed your consultation, a physician will review your information, answer any questions you have and message you about the next steps. Please allow a few business days for this medical review to occur. If you're issued a prescription, the physician will send this directly to the compounding pharmacy.
Shipping Confirmation - Once your medication has been shipped by the pharmacy, you'll receive a confirmation email with the tracking number.
Subscription - Your subscription will automatically renew and a new shipment will be sent every three months.
How does subscription payment work?
Your annual subscription will be billed to the credit card provided in three-month intervals each time a 90-day supply of your solution is compounded and shipped. At the end of a twelve-month prescription, we'll remind you to follow up with a physician via the XYON Health platform to renew your prescription.
How long do hair loss solutions take to work?
Depending on the case, results may be seen in as little as 3 to 6 months. You may need to consistently use your oral or topical hair loss solution for 9-12 months before seeing significant results.
When assessing the efficacy of solutions for male and female pattern hair loss, physicians look for two things: maintenance of existing hairs and new growth. Both are positive signs. It's normal to experience some shedding with 5-alpha reductase inhibitors or minoxidil during the first 1-2 months of treatment.
With continued use, this shedding should decrease as older hairs are pushed out of hair follicles to create room for new hairs. If your shedding does not resolve or continues to worsen over time, we recommend that you please reach out to your prescribing physician.
Are hair loss solutions safe?
Various clinical studies have shown that finasteride, dutasteride and minoxidil (Rogaine) are generally well-tolerated medications. However, some people may be at an increased risk of developing certain side effects. In men, side effects such as erectile dysfunction, changes in libido and breast swelling/tenderness have been reported with the use of finasteride and dutasteride. In women, changes in libido and breast swelling/tenderness have also been observed.
Minoxidil is also generally well-tolerated, but the oral form of the medication has been associated with systemic side effects such as changes in blood pressure and cardiac side effects.
The likelihood of experiencing side effects depends on differences in how the body processes medications and/or pre-existing medical conditions. Topical formulations of 5-alpha reductase inhibitors and minoxidil may help reduce the chances of side effects by reducing systemic exposure to medications used to treat hair loss.
Can I customize the dosage?
The dosage of your hair loss solution will be decided by an independent, licensed physician based on a review of your medical history and the extent and type of hair loss. You may contact the prescribing physician with any questions or concerns about dosage.
